Thursday, October 22, 2026 - The Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) supported emergency functions during an Airport Full-Scale Exercise today, reinforcing the importance of preparedness, interagency coordination and emergency response readiness.

Representing CEMA were Director Dennis Jones, Deputy Director Randall Mathews, Emergency Management Coordinator Tiffany Arant, Senior Radio Technician Matthew Pimentel and Emergency Preparedness Manager A’riel Johnson.

Full-scale exercises simulate real-world emergency scenarios, allowing participating agencies and response partners to practice their roles, test established plans and evaluate coordination in a controlled environment. These exercises also help identify strengths and opportunities for improvement before an actual emergency occurs.

CEMA’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to collaboration, training and strengthening emergency management capabilities throughout Chatham County.

Preparedness in practice. Coordination in action. A stronger response for our community.
