Chatham County Recovery Efforts Continue Following Hurricane Helene
Chatham County’s critical workforce has been operating at full capacity to support recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene.
The County's Public Works Department has been actively clearing roadways of trees and debris. Residents are encouraged to place debris at the edge of the roadway, ensuring it's clear of mailboxes, fire hydrants, meter readers, and other obstacles to help crews work efficiently. The County has activated it's debris removal contract and Ash-Britt will start pick up debris in unicorportated Chatham County soon.
With some traffic signals still out of service, drivers are reminded to treat broken traffic lights as all-way stops until they are restored. Want to find out about which traffic lights are in operation and which are still in operable? Click here for a map.
