Chatham Emergency Management Agency's (CEMA) Disaster Faith Network presents the annual Faith-Based Preparedness Summit. This full-day event, held at East Campus Compassion Christian Church, will provide critical resources for Houses of Worship and Faith-Based Organizations within Chatham County. 8:30-9:00 Registration
9:00-9:15 Welcome and Introductions
9:15- 10:45 Opening Session – Faith in Action
- Hear from Houses of Worship and Faith-Based Organizations that helped in the immediate aftermath of Tropical Storm Debby. Speakers will provide insight on what they did to assist those in need and how other Houses of Worship can support when the need arises again.
10:45-11:00 Break
11:00- 12:00 Session 2 – Understanding Hate Crimes in Southeast Georgia
- The United Against Hate (UAH) Community Outreach Program aims to improve hate crime reporting by:
• teaching community members how to identify, report, and help prevent hate crimes; and
• building trust between law enforcement and communities.
UAH shares resources to combat hate and encourages discussion between representatives from law enforcement, community organizations, and members of the public. UAH emphasizes that while some hate-fueled incidents—standing alone—may not be a crime, people should still report those incidents to local law enforcement and the FBI.

- Hear from Chatham County's E-911 Dispatch Director, Diane Pinckney, as she discusses the changes to the Dispatch program and the incredible enchancements made over the last year.
