Hurricane Wilma

At 11:00 AM this morning, CEMA will return to normal Operating Condition 5. We will continue to monitor Hurricane Wilma and alert you to any significant change that would prove a potential threat to Chatham County.  
 
Hurricane Wilma was located near latitude 26.3 North, longitude 80.7 West or about 45 miles Southwest of West Palm Beach, Florida and is moving toward the northeast near 25 mph. Hurricane Wilma is a category two hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. Maximum sustained winds are near 110 mph. Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 90 miles from the center and Tropical Storm force winds extend outward up to 230 miles.  
 
This will be the last Information Release issued for this event unless conditions warrant otherwise.
